Values rise on small yarding

The last sheep and lamb sale at Dubbo prior to writing this column saw lamb numbers decline 5090 head to 15,360 and grown sheep numbers lift by 750 to 4800 for a total of 20,160 head.

This was one of the smallest yardings at Dubbo we have seen for many weeks.

Virtually all reported categories saw a rise in values with suckers up $3 to $4 again to top at $147 and estimated at the top of the range to reach 568c to 574c/kg cwt.

Best heavy export lambs topped the sale at $171. These lambs equated to 501c/to 503c/kg cwt.

The best heavy weight Merino lambs topped at $146. All grades of mutton were represented in the yarding with the best of the crossbred wethers fetching $137/head.
