Committment provenTony and Sandra Galea of Glanmire Dorpers are committed to the Dorper breed.
Dorper characteristics such as shedding, high lambing percentages with fast lamb growth and early to market, all adds up to more money in your pocket.
Glanmire Dorpers breeds both stud and commercial dorper rams and ewes with both expected to perform under commercial conditions and not be reliant on constant care and supplementary feeding.
During the past two years the dorpers were inspected by Rodney Rayner, a highly-respected international judge and inspector from South Africa. He also provided the stud with valuable input into its breeding program.
More recently, the genetics have come from Dell Dorpers and the most recent lambing in September produced a 185 per cent lambing.
This year the stud will be represented at the Bathurst Royal Show, Dubbo Show, Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show and Auction and Dubbo National Dorper Show and Auction.
At Glanmire Dorpers the aim is to maintain the integrity of the breed and continually enhance the genetics of its stock.

Selection critical
The best genetics and attention to ewe selection and performance are reasons why studmaster Peter Jackson has significantly increased profit for clients of Coronga White Suffolks.
Easy lambing, high growth, not too lean and plenty of muscle mean lambs that increase profit.
They achieve well above average growth using current Coronga sires which sees client lambs five to seven kg heavier at four to five months of age compared to 10 years ago.
The exceptional muscling of Coronga stock can mean dressed weights of 48 to 50 per cent compared to accepted 44 per cent, a gain of $8 to 10 on most lambs.
Peter’s 45 years of animal production experience and rural veterinary practice is definitely an asset to the stud and his knowledge will guide you to the perfect choice of ram.
Peter still enjoys the challenges of being involved with producing the best value rams for the prime lamb industry.
