PBR Tamworth draws sell-out crowd as Brazilian snags victory

A sold-out AELEC set the stage for an adrenaline-packed night at the Professional Bull Riding Invitational in Tamworth on Saturday night.

Twenty-two riders from across the globe battled it out on 52 of the most extreme bucking bulls in a head-to-head battle of power, agility and the fight of the fittest, eight seconds at a time.

Those contesting the $25,000 in prize money travelled from Brazil, United States, Canada and New Zealand, as well as two Tamworth cowboys taking them on.

“We've also got 17 of the top Australian riders here tonight,” Tamworth councillor Russell Webb told the crowd, ahead of an exciting show of pyrotechnics, lasers, concert sound system and mega screen replays.

“We’ve got two riders here tonight representing our region: Ethan Watts and Lachlan Slade.”
