About the role
If you have an interest in agriculture, love traveling and have a passion for storytelling we'd love to hear from you!
We're seeking a journalist to help cover central NSW, being based from Dubbo. As the successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of journalists of all levels of experience, we would welcome applications from graduates all the way through to seasoned country reporters. Highly competitive remuneration packages that include a personal vehicle are on offer.
This exciting role includes news gathering, writing, photography and video to create relevant content for our print and digital platforms and reports to The Land's editor. There are also opportunities, training and support for niche projects like podcasting.
A solid understanding of agriculture and/or experience in agricultural related fields, such as livestock markets or agronomy, would be considered highly valuable but not essential for those willing to learn. The journalist must demonstrate a commitment to accuracy; be a self-starter, able to work to strict deadlines and take a creative and audience-first approach to their work. Strong photography skills would be highly valued.
The role also includes regular travel, mainly within the Central West slopes and plains, but occasionally into other regions to cover news and events.
