The Silver City Stiletto, NSW Trainlink’s dedicated carriage service from Sydney to Broken Hill for the annual festival made stop overs in Orange and Parkes on Thursday, carrying fans and participants.
The party train left Sydney early on Thursday carrying resident drag queens Maude Boate and Aurora Arsenic to entertain passengers.
The train made a brief stop in Parkes for a crew change.
Maude and Aurora took the opportunity to stretch their high-heeled legs, say hello and pose for photos.
Maude gave a special rendition of The Man in the Moon from the 1974 musical Mame.
Festival Director, Esther LaRovere said earlier the dedicated train service was a great show of support for Broken Heel.
“We’re getting more interest every year, and to be able to offer all those Queens and partygoers from Sydney to Parkes and all places in between an economic and entertaining option to get to Broken Heel is fantastic,” she said.
The festival is a celebration of all things ‘fabulous’, with three action-packed days of high voltage hilarity.
The event was expected to attract Drag Queens and Drag Kings from around the nation plus a crafted list of entertainers performing cabaret, comedy, opera and live music to get the stillettos tapping and the faux fur flapping!
Hosted at the colourful Palace Hotel, Silverton Hotel and the shining Silver City of Broken Hill, the festival offers all of the authentic favourite haunts from the iconic film Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
The festival ends on Sunday.
