The region has gained another air link to a major city, after the first regular flight connecting Orange with Melbourne was scheduled to take off on Monday morning.
Corporate Air’s 34-seat Saab 340 B Plus aircraft will provide four return trips a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
A company spokesman said a Tuesday service would be added in about six weeks’ time.
He said the first flight was nearly booked out yesterday.
The spokesman said the company expected customers would be a mix of people travelling for business and leisure.
A one-way flight will cost between $259 and $419 depending on availability.
