A group of volunteers recently presented a cheque of $10,000 to Channel Nine, to help assist drought affected farmers.

Destination Outback is a major project of Rotary Club of Dubbo South.

Every two years Club members and people from across the central west travel thousands of kilometres across rural Australia to raise money for community groups and organisations.

Event co-ordinator Brett (Macca) McCarthy and members of Destination Outback presented the cheque to Channel Nine’s Today Show hosts, when they were in Dubbo on Monday for their farm aid telethon.

Rotary Australia recently joined forces with The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) and Channel 9 on a national fundraising drive to support drought-affected farming families.

Destination Outback recently completed their 2018 trip, where they visited Cunnamulla, Yaraka, Longreach, Tambo, Tooloombilla, Nindygully and Armatree.
