About 10.10pm on Tuesday officers from the Orana Mid-Western Target Action Group stopped a Suzuki Ignis on the Golden Highway Dubbo, to speak with the driver.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located a large quantity of drugs, believed to be cannabis.
The package was seized and will undergo forensic analysis.
A 47-year-old man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
He was charged with possession and supply of prohibited drug (cannabis).
The man was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
