The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at a property on Avonside Road in Dunedoo.

NSW Police State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said at around 10.20am the owner of the property saw an unknown vehicle parked in his machinery shed.

“The vehicle is described as a white Toyota Hilux dual cab utility with silver coloured front flares, black steel bull bar, LED light bar between the two rails and one smaller LED light bar mounted on the top bar of bull bar,” he said.

“The vehicle has a dark coloured steel tray with a dog cage containing two pig dogs parked”

Detective Inspector Whiteside said the property owner saw two males in the vehicle.

“The vehicle was fitted with NSW registration plates QAI-374 however those plates were cancelled in 2003 and do not belong to the vehicle,” he said.

A number of items were stolen from the shed during the incident along with a quantity of diesel fuel from a tractor.

“The two male occupants of the vehicle have left a black and white kelpie puppy with no collar or microchip fitted at the scene,” Detective Inspector Whiteside said.
