Along with his Bathurst-born wife Chezzi, the couple are Rural Aid ambassadors and for much of this year they have been encouraging the public to support the charity’s work in helping drought-affected farmers.
Mr Denyer said with Christmas just around the corner, that he decided to take a bold step to raise even more and recorded a charity single, a cover of Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas.
The single will be released this Friday and all funds raised will go to Rural Aid.
“This has been a tragically desperate period for Aussie farmers struggling under the crippling grip of one of Australia’s worst droughts,” Mr Denyer said.
“While they struggle to pay their bills, put food on the family table and fight to save their animals and farms, we just can’t forget them this Christmas. Everyone deserves some Christmas cheer.”
Currently 100 per cent of the region is in drought, with 45.7 per cent of the Central West and 24.6 per cent of the Central Tablelands declared in intense drought.
The Denyers have previously organised a number of fundraisers for the charity, including a Black Tie and Boots Ball in Bathurst earlier this year which raised $150,000.

Mr Denyer said raising funds for Rural Aid with a Christmas song was a fun way to keep up the support for farmers, while also living out one of his musical dreams.
“I love driving, road trips and heading home to family at Christmas and music has always been my favourite part of the season,” he said.
“This project combines all those things and for a good cause. Whack it on your playlist this Chrissy, sing along and help out a farmer. It’s an Aussie-As thing to do.”
Driving Home For Christmas was heard for the first time on the Grant and Ed morning show on 2Day FM on Tuesday.
The single will be available on Friday, December 7 via iTunes.
