Emergency services were called to a site near Elong Elong on the Golden Highway just before 11pm following reports that a truck had rolled over.
Fire and Rescue NSW Station Officer Mick Medlin was among the crew who were called to the scene.
“A truck carrying cement rolled and two people were treated and taken to hospital,” he said.
“A female was trapped in the vehicle and was treated by ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue and airlifted by ambulance helicopter to hospital.
“She was in a serious condition.”
The Golden Highway was closed in both directions following the accident with motorists facing extensive delays.
The highway has since reopened.
