Parkes farmers received some relief with good rain falling

Prayers and a blessing of the seed, soil and water in Parkes have been somewhat answered.
Widespread rain hit a large section of the state late last week and in Parkes farmers received some relief after a dry April with 9.8mm falling over Thursday and Friday.
The rain followed a special service on April 27 by St Paul's Lutheran church.
The prayer service was well received and attended by over 75 people and followed by a hearty Roast of biblical proportions.
The gathering was held in a large shed, on a beautiful farming property 20km from Parkes.
"The evening was made possible by the donations of the Lutheran Church of Australia drought relief, donations have been received from thousands of people throughout the nation, to bring aid and drought relief across Australia," Pastor James Leach said.

"The finance has been utilised and will continue to be used within the Parkes region through several avenues over the coming months.
"Members of the church and wider community assisted with transport and loan of trestle tables, chairs, barbecues, ovens and cars to bring the effort together seamlessly.
"The theme of the night was that we are not alone.
"The season is as at this stage an unknown but there are a few things that we know for sure. The Parkes community is a strong community which is willing to come together in times of need to assist each other and to lend a helping hand.
"The churches of the Parkes community care for the community and are there to help in times of hardship and during those dark times in our lives.
"And finally that if ever we are feeling alone we can be sure that God is there with us, supporting us through His word and through those who follow Him.
