Event founder and director Matt Clifton said they had a good crowd with just under 8,000 through the gates across the weekend.
He described the event as a huge success, thanks to local and regional support.
"A big thanks to everyone involved; Council, volunteers and Destination NSW," he said.
As a cold front swept in Friday night, Nyxen, Thundamentals and Golden Features put on an incredible night's entertainment.
Thundamentals vocalist Jesse said it was a lot of fun.
"The crowd was just super responsive and kind and warm and generous with their reaction to what we were doing. So I was super happy with how the set went myself," he said.
Brendan from Thundamentals explained that this was their first time to the central west and that it was amazing to see so many people in the crowd despite the cold weather.
"It started sleeting and they're just super people out here who don't feel the cold ... It's wild. Much love Forbes," he said.
Band member Morgan said it's great to see their music reach people in regional and isolated areas.
"(When) You go out to more regional places you realise how big Australia is and how many people there are living outside of those big cities," Jesse added.
This was singer Mallrat's first time to Forbes and she said it was nice being able to catch up with other artists backstage and see them play.
"It was really cool to see Ruel play," she said.
"I haven't seen him play before ... but he's doing so well and he's so talented. So for me that has been something special about Vanfest."
Saturday saw saw the sun start to come out, and motocross act The Crusty Demons were able to put on their show for a big crowd.
Artists to take the stage throughout the night included Eves Karydas, Methel Ethel, Mallrat and Broods.
Australian dance music trio Pnau wrapped it all up late Saturday night.
After a date shift from November, Clifton says the festival is "here to stay, and we'll be back next year".
The festival might move forward in the year a little, but that will all be locked in closer to the time.
