The weir pool is now refilling and the river level has risen more than 60 centimetres since last Thursday. When the flow into the weir pool began on Thursday the river was at 1.93 metres.
The council said that it is still unclear as to how much water will be received into the Bourke weir pool, but it is anticipated that it will continue to slowly rise.

"This inflow is good news for Bourke and North Bourke's town water supply and for stock and domestic users," the council reported.
Under the level three restrictions, which came into effect at 4pm Monday, May 27, the use of fixed sprinklers continues to be prohibited.
However hand held hoses can now be used for two hours per day at each property. These restrictions apply to both filtered and raw water supplies.
The washing of paved areas and motor vehicles can only be undertaken using buckets (commercial operations with recycling facilities are exempt) and the filling or topping up of private swimming pools is prohibited in accordance with the council's adopted policy.
While water consumption for internal/domestic (household) use is not subject to restrictions, the council request residents to be mindful to take measures to reduce consumption, like ensuring that the taps don't continue to run whilst cleaning teeth.
The filtered water supply will continue to be a blend of river and bore water.
