Cobar born-and-bred reporter Jamelle Wells nominated for crime writing award

Cobar born-and bred journalist Jamelle Wells has been named as a finalist in the Australian Crime Writing Association's Ned Kelly Awards.

Ms Wells' memoir The Court Reporter is a finalist in the Best True Crime category.

Winners will be announced in Sydney on September 6.

Ms Wells grew up in Cobar and returns regularly to visit her father.

She now works as a court reporter with the ABC in Sydney.
