Life and Light photo competition, winners announced | Photos

Photographers of all ages and abilities have helped capture a glimpse of what life is like in western NSW thanks to a recent competition.

The artists took part in the 2019 Life and Light photo competition, with the winners announced over the weekend at the Wentworth Show. The theme for this year's competition was 'beyond the dust'.

In the open colour section, Ruth Sandow came first with her image titled 'Drink o'clock at the waterhole'.

Charli Smith came first in the open secondary section for the image 'Beauty After the Dust' and also won the Black and White Secondary category for 'Just Having a Rest'.

In the primary colour section Abbie Kelly came first for 'Desert Flowers' and Maureen Duncan's 'Where there is life, there is hope' won in the black and white open.

Zahra Cawley won the black and white primary category with 'Donkey Stare Off' and Myriam Bruinen was awarded first place in the professional section for 'Webs on Cotton Field.'

The peoples choice winner was Jessie Rogers with 'Calm Before the Dust.'

This is the 21st year that it has been run and continues to grow in popularity.
