NSW bushfires: Smoke drifting across the region made for some beautiful scenes | Photos, pictures
AS bushfires rage in some parts of the state, with the closest large blaze in Wollemi National Park, it's made for some pretty spectacular scenery.
Winds have pushed smoke as far away as Dubbo with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) issuing a warning on Wednesday that it was not due to any fires burning in the Orana region.
While the RFS said the 164,000 hectare Gospers Mountain bushfire looked certain to be the largest on record for the Lithgow region, and it was much bigger than the State Mine Fire of 2013.
Meanwhile, total fire bans are in place for large parts of the region due to a severe fire danger risk.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a fire weather warning on Thursday morning for this region.
It said hot and dry westerly winds would generate elevated fire dangers for parts of the region.
With the heavy smoke around today, we would like to remind those with respiratory issues to take extra care. Please remember if you have a pre-existing medical condition make sure you have all your medications with you and readily available. #NSWFires#Smoke
