Later trading times at venues during the 2020 Coonamble Rodeo and Campdraft will help boost the economy, create jobs and tourism opportunities.

The NSW Government has extended trading times for upcoming major events in 2020 including hotels or registered clubs in the Coonamble Shire Council local government area for the town's rodeo and campdraft.

The extended trading hours do not apply to takeaway alcohol sales.

Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello said extended trading means patrons can socialise later at night during and after these events.

"Almost all extensions are for events on Sundays when most hotels and clubs are restricted to standard 10pm trading," he said.

Local area extensions will apply for Vivid Sydney, Coonamble Rodeo and Campdraft, the Bathurst 1000 and Newcastle 500 motor sport races.

"Pubs and clubs across NSW can open later for these events so people can get together and watch all the action on big screens with their friends and family," Mr Dominello said.

Patrons staying out later in venues are reminded to consume alcohol responsibly so everyone can enjoy a safe night.

Venues already approved to trade during or beyond the extended hours can operate as usual.

Hotels and clubs must still comply with any individual trading restrictions or other special conditions that apply to their licences under the Liquor Act.
