The executive committee of the Nyngan Show Society have cancelled the 2020 show, following advice from the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW.

In a statement, show president Rodney Robb said it was with great regret they had to inform the community of the cancellation.
"The Agricultural Societies Council of NSW has met on Monday to discuss the implications on shows of the Order under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 to force immediate cancellation of public events with more than 500 people in response to the COVID-19.
"Tim Capp, President of the ASC of NSW stresses the importance that all shows for the foreseeable future follow the directive. Our recommendation is that all agricultural shows and show related activities do not proceed.
"The safety and well-being of our patrons and visitors is paramount and all precautions and in consultation with the Health Authority, the ASC of NSW the Nyngan Show Committee has decided that this is the best course of action," he said.
