Geoff Higgins, from the Dubbo Men's Shed said due to the global heath pandemic, COVID-19 forced the lockdown of schools in the Philippines, meaning students have to do their studies at home.
But many students don't have their own computers at home to use, which is why they are asking residents from Dubbo and wider central west region to send in their unwanted monitors, keyboards and mouses.
The Men's Shed computer appeal has been running for about six or so years and in that time they have been able to send over 1400 computers to the Philippines.
The idea to send over computers to students first came about after Mr Higgins visited the Philippines many years ago and decided he wanted to help those less fortunate.
"I thought computers would help them, particularly the kids in school," he said.
Due to COVID-19 forcing school's in the Philippines to be closed, the demand for computers is greater than ever, Mr Higgins said.
He said the Dubbo and wider central west community have been very generous over the years, with donations coming from businesses, schools and individuals.
More recently, staff and students at Trangie and Gulgong Public Schools have donated items for the computer appeal.
