TWO women have died and eight people were taken to hospital with injuries following two horror crashes in the Blue Mountains.

On Friday afternoon, a woman in her 60s died at Blackheath in a three-car accident which left two people in hospital.
Then late Sunday afternoon, another woman died in a separate three-car accident 20 minutes up the road at Wentworth Falls.
The accident occurred at 5pm near Sinclair Crescent, with the female driver of a Kia Rio sedan dying at the scene. The female passenger was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
The male driver of a Ford Everest SUV and the passengers - a woman and three children - sustained minor injuries.
They were taken to Katoomba Hospital with minor injuries where the driver underwent mandatory testing.

The male driver and sole occupant of a Mercedes Benz sustained minor injuries and has been taken to Katoomba Hospital for treatment.
Officers from Blue Mountains Police District remained at the scene well into the evening and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who has dash cam vision, to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
