Oates was the big-name casualty after the Broncos slumped to their fifth straight loss and second last on the ladder, replaced by Jamayne Isaako on the wing on Tuesday.

However, Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold is sticking with under-performing halves Anthony Milford and Brodie Croft despite the presence of livewire playmaker Tom Dearden.

Captain Alex Glenn said he felt for Oates who made way for Isaako after Brisbane hit a new low last round when they were booed off the field at halftime before losing to cellar-dwellers Gold Coast.

"I love Oatesy. I have played a lot of footy with him. I know he's lacking a little bit of confidence," he said.

"But this is going to fuel the flame inside of him. I know he will be back stronger."

Despite calls for Dearden to replace Milford, the 19-year-old is again on the bench as back-up for hooker Issac Luke.

Eyebrows were raised when Richie Kennar started training at left centre on Tuesday with Darius Boyd failing to take part in the first 15 minutes of the session.

But former skipper Boyd is expected to play after finally joining the main group and later being named in the centres against the Warriors.

Enforcer Matt Lodge has been named in the Broncos front-row despite leaving the field last round with a knee complaint.

Pat Carrigan returns from suspension to replace Joe Ofahengaue (two week ban) while Tom Flegler is also back from a one week ban, starting on the bench.

Meanwhile, Ryley Jacks has replaced Cameron Munster (knee) in the halves for Melbourne's Thursday night blockbuster against Sydney Roosters in Brisbane with Cameron Smith remaining at No.9.

The Roosters have welcomed back superstar fullback James Tedesco (concussion) and centre Josh Morris (calf).

Tri-Colours lock Victor Radley and hooker Sam Verrills (both knee) have been replaced by Nat Butcher and Jake Friend respectively with Mitchell Aubusson on the bench for Isaac Liu (rib).

For North Queensland, superstar fullback Val Holmes (ankle) has been named on an extended bench for Friday's clash with Parramatta and will be given until Thursday to prove his fitness.

For Wests Tigers, Benji Marshall is again on an extended bench for ' Saturday's clash with a Penrith outfit that welcomes back winger Josh Mansour (knee) at Brent Naden's expense.

Joe Tapine is back from a knee injury to replace lock Corey Horsburgh (foot) for Canberra's clash with St George Illawarra, with Bailey Simsonsson replacing Jordan Rapana on the wing and Michael Oldfield in for Curtis Scott at centre.

Meanwhile Bradman Best replaces Gehamat Shibasaki at centre for Sunday's clash with Manly after a week in quarantine. Herman Ese'ese is at lock for Tim Glasby (head knock).

In Sunday's final match South Sydney's James Roberts starts at centre against a Canterbury side with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak at fullback for Will Hopoate (ankle) and Marcelo Montoya in the centres for Jake Averillo (head knock).
