The final date to get entries in is July 10.
Organiser Kate O'Connor said so far entry numbers are going really well despite everything that has happened this year with COVID-19.
"We're up to almost 300 photos now, we're doing really well with it this year, we're very happy," she said.
"It's pretty consistent with what we usually receive (in previous year's competitions). We thought maybe with the restrictions and everything people may not be able to get out as much and take photos."

Photos that were taken no earlier than January 2019 can also be submitted, which Ms O'Connor said may help with entry numbers this year.
Ms O'Connor said there has been a range of interesting images submitted so far.
"People have either been in the right place at the right time or they've waited a long time to get the picture, but there's some really interesting shots that they've managed to get," she explained.
The competition organiser encouraged those who haven't yet entered, but are thinking about it, to jump in and do it now.
"Just give it a go, you don't know if you don't enter," Ms O'Connor said.
There are a range of categories for people to enter their work into, including open, school and people's choice.
Outback photographer Fiona Lake has also come on board for the second year in a row as the professional judge.

Ms O'Connor said it is great to have the acclaimed photographer back, as she always gives fantastic advice to entrants after the competition.
The theme for this year's competition is 'Love Our Outback', which is a great way to show all the aspects of the western region that people love, Ms O'Connor said.
"It changes for everybody and it is really great to see so many people from all diff ages are eager to get out and get involve din photography... it brings the community together," she explained.
