The recent rains and a state-wide turn in the season has seen farmers head to CitiQuip Industries in Cowra for grain tippers and heavy-duty flat top tippers custom designed and built for their individual needs for the coming harvest.
CitiQuip specialises in the fabrication and fitting of tipping trays and grain bins and is among the few in Western NSW offering such a tailored service, according to operations manager David Trim.
"It's been a busy seven months since the current owners took over (it was formally West Cowra Welding)," said David.
"Although a modest size business in terms of personnel, it already had its own identity and loyal customer base in the central west region, including farmers, landscape suppliers, city councils and small quarry operators to name just a few.
"We're only a team of seven people (that's in the workshop and the office), but we pride ourselves on the quality of our work. Our range of services are extensive.
"The gravel tippers and tipping trays, as well as flat top rigid trays, keep us fairly busy, but we also offer optional extras such as tow bars, tailgate loaders, roll-top tarps, underbody toolboxes and dog carriers.
"Chassis extensions are another specialised service we offer catering for all Japanese, European and American truck makes and models. This can be a cost-effective way for an operator to convert a second-hand prime mover to take a tipping tray or other truck body."
David said their most challenging job over recent months was a custom-built removable gravel tipper fitted to the back of a Mercedes Benz Actros.
"It converts back into a prime mover in a matter of about seven minutes," he said. "It's got a hydraulic lift kit and hydraulic cross lock pins, so the truck can be used as a gravel tipper or for machinery float haulage by disconnecting a few hydraulic lines and inserting four stands.
"The team at CitiQuip is passionate about R&D and run state-of-the-art CAD software. Team members are utilising the time during the COVID-19 crisis to develop new product offerings. To ensure you are prepared for the coming harvest season, reach out to CitiQuip."
