NEARLY 15 years ago, William Adams and James Vince were taking delivery of a new Croplands Rogator 1286C.

This self-propelled sprayer was to replace their existing trailed sprayer and was destined to provide them with years of highly efficient and timely spray applications across their cropping operation in Mullaley.

Not far away, a tractor worked its way around a field as one of the first Trimble RTK systems was being installed and calibrated. This tractor was running off a nearby Trimble RTK Base Station, the first of many to be installed across Northern NSW over the next few years.

Little did anyone know that this was the start of a very productive and valued relationship. "The sprayer is undoubtedly one of the most important and frequently used pieces of machinery on this farm," Lambrook Pastoral Co farm manager James Vince said.

"We've had such a good run from our 1286 and the Trimble GPS system that it's just been too hard to justify trading into new equipment until now".

But now the time has arrived, and so this week representatives from Croplands, NFS AG Machinery and Vantage NSW were on site at Lambrook to ensure the delivery of their new Croplands RG1100C ran smoothly.

James Vince (farm manager) and Jim Hunt (agronomist) were both impressed with the boom recirculation and product recovery features of the new plumbing system. They also enjoyed the benefits of the quieter cab and smoother driveline.

The new RG1100C walks over country with its new all-wheel-drive package. Combined with the carbon modified chassis providing for up to 48" of flex, both James and Connor were eager to spend more time in the cab learning the new machine.

In the cab, the seamlessly integrated Trimble GFX-750 display provides ISOBUS product control while hydraulic autopilot autosteer keeps the machine on RTK accuracy tram-tracks.

Farm data is managed wirelessly through Trimble Ag Software and fields and run-lines are automatically populated on the Trimble Display without the need for USB data transfer.
