Around 120 people have tested positive to COVID-19 after being present at a Norwegian restaurant where a corporate Christmas party led to an outbreak, the NRK broadcaster has reported, citing health authorities.

More than half of the cases are believed to be of the new Omicron variant. On Saturday, the national health institute FHI had confirmed 13 Omicron cases.
Of those infected, 70 had attended the Christmas party at Aker Brygge in Oslo on Thursday, NRK reported. Two of them were said to have recently been to South Africa.
The other 45 to 50 cases occurred in people who had visited the venue that same day.
The authorities called on anyone to come forward who had visited the Louise Restaurant & Bar after November 26.
According to FHI data on Saturday, Norway had registered an overall 19 Omicron cases, including four people who had entered the country from South Africa, where the variant was first detected on November 24.
In Denmark, meanwhile, the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly. The public health institute SSI said on Sunday that 183 cases had so far been reported.
SSI chief Henrik Ullum expressed concern, noting that there were now infections that could not be traced back to travel.
